Store design process

From the first message to project release and beyond —
here is how we work and what we do at each step.

Before we start

What we do at this step:

Our first step is to carefully analyze your goals and objectives. We also go over all of the files you’ve provided, such as brand books, visual style samples, and so on.

What we need from your side:

  • Common analytics data, if possible
  • Graphics like product images, banners, etc
  • Videos, if needed
  • Logos in SVG format
  • Icons in SVG format, if you have any
  • Brand book in PDF format, if any.

If this information is insufficient, or if you are not sure how to put it all together, we can ask you to fill out a sample brief to help you structure your requirements.

What you get:

You’ll receive an initial estimate which includes a list of work and the time required to complete it. We’ll also provide you with redesigning recommendations.

If required, our dedicated web accessibility team can implement web accessibility throughout your project. Our certified experts ensure your project complies with the required standards at each level.

After we start

Steps of our store development process

Step 1: UX research and analysis

At this step, our UX/UI designers look through the data you provide, carry out research, and create our concepts for future work.

What we do at this step:

  • Define all possible scenarios for customer interaction with your website
  • Analyze the user journey, identify bottlenecks, and suggest opportunities to improve the current user experience
  • Research similar websites from different or related niches, highlighting advantages and best practices that can be applied for further store improvement.

What we need from your side:

We may request a list of your competitors or favorite websites. If you’re not sure exactly what you want, this should help us guide you.

What you get:

  • We will provide you with a mood board containing all project-related insights, such as visuals of similar web pages, user flow, core ideas, etc.

Need a more comprehensive approach to redesigning your project? If so, UX audit is the right fit for you.

Step 2: Generation of ideas and hypotheses

Here, we apply the design thinking principles and insight from different areas to come up with as many ideas for website refinement as possible. Then we brainstorm and choose the best ideas and solutions based on whether they are relevant to solving your business issues.

What we do at this step:

  • Generate hypotheses and ideas for the future concept
  • Define key and secondary scenarios, considering the customer’s journey in steps
  • If you still don’t have a distinctive brand identity, we can help you establish one
  • Choose the most valued idea which can be implemented with the most reliable and fastest-to-implement technologies.

What you get:

  • A detailed presentation of ideas in Figma. And only after your approval, we’ll move on to the next step.

Step 3: Prototyping

During this stage, we create working prototypes of the website’s main pages., which are then tested internally.

What we do at this step:

  • Create working prototypes of the core user functions
  • Design the information architecture.

Step 4: Testing

At this stage, our team carefully validates hypotheses through user testing. Once that is done, we make a list of improvements and come up with new, more effective, and valuable solutions if needed.

What we do at this step:

  • Gather direct user feedback on our solutions using working
prototypes. Then, if required, we map out changes for further
    iterations
  • We create a test plan and a list of questions for users to work
through. Then, we track how people use our prototype
    and analyze the results.

At this point, we may find that some ideas are no longer viable. Based on the feedback, we refine the design mockups and test them again. This process is continued until you are completely satisfied with the results.

Step 5: Final mockup design

At this stage, our team creates the UI kit, a collection of assets that contains a variety of design elements such as UI components and styles.

What we do at this step:

We prepare design mockups with all possible interface options and the cover documentation to be handed over to the development team. Developers will have a clear idea of what needs to be done, so you won’t have to spend extra time transferring the design.

What you get:

  • UI components and styles like fonts, design mockups, icons, etc. ready for further development
  • Detailed cover documentation.
